For the final time operated by DRS, the Southampton - Scotland and vice-versa "Boat Train" is seen passing Shawford on 15th December. At the front was 47810 "Peter Bath MBE 1927 - 2006" while tailing was 47501 "Craftsman"; the train was 1Z92 Southampton Western Docks - Edinburgh. It is believed that DBS Class 67's will take over the running of this service.
A trio of DRS loco's were to be seen on the 'Cruise Saver Express' on the 13th May 2012. Seen on the East Coast Mainline heading north past the Offord's in the afternoon. DRS Class 37's, No. 37602 (leading) with No. 37259 are seen double heading with DRS Class 47, No. 47810 'Peter Bath MBE' trailing at the rear. This working ran from Eastleigh to Edinburgh under reporting headcode 1Z77.
Northern Belle Pullman duffs 47832 + 47790 head 1Z69 Edinburgh - Southampton Docks Cruise train through Dorridge on the 16/11/11. Closely followed by 66731 dragging two 508's from Donnington to Eastleigh. (508203/508305). It was booked into the loop before Dorridge, but arrived early and was sent straight through. It passed Dorridge 18 early.
On the 21/04/12 the first Cruise Saver of the year ran from Edinburgh to Southampton. TnT DRS 47841 and 47818 are seen passing Widney Manor station. They were stuck behind a stopping London Midland and so not travelling very fast :-(
