This was a strange project to pidgeon hole. It was intended to be a storage area above a top floor tenement flat, but with full building warrants required all the structural upgrades of a complete conversion. Accessed via a space saver staircase, with a 200mm thick thermal fire break around the staircase it is a substantial project.

The pride of the Royal Lifeboat Service, their latest and biggest boat. She's built on a 'self-righting' principle, to cope with the ultimate in rough seas! She's also the first British lifeboat to be fitted with radar. When her trials are completed, she'll be leaving Littlehampton - for Edinburgh, and after that she'll be based at Yarmouth. The Cruise Saver Express Tribute (best known as the DRS Boat Train). This is a highlight video of the train in action in the south of England. It ran from Scotland either Edinburgh or Glasgow to the ports of Southampton as a cheap alternative to flying there and back. The Boat Train has now finished for reasons not known yet but we hope it makes a return some time? It ran from April 2011 to December 2012.

Saturday 03rd December was a busy day for Class 47 Railtours with 3 such tours booked to run across the North of England. Sadly for me I have to work one Saturday a year and it happened to be that day. Still I managed to nab two of the three tours and they are seen here. As it turns out the tour I missed was subbed by two Zombies, being 57601 and 57001. We start off at Leeds where we see "The Cruise Saver Express" being led in by 47810 & 47501 with 37604 on the rear. Moving on from Leeds we head on over to the quaint Yorkshire town of Keighley, more famously known for being the rail connection and terminus to the "Keighley & Worth Valley Railway". In traditional early December weather conditions we see 47580 leading in NENTA's "Yorkshire Christmas Festival" tour in from Skipton with 477...
